These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at marrowmyth.com and the products and services offered through it (the "Site" and "Services"), operated by F.C. Marrow as MarrowMyth ("MarrowMyth", "we", "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Eligibility & Age
You must be old enough to form a binding contract to use the Site. Any mature material that a user may generate — which, depending on their inputs and chosen AI provider, could include graphic violence, strong language, or sexual content — is intended solely for adults aged 18 or older; by accessing the Site you confirm you are 18 or older. The Site does not produce such material of its own accord; any such output results from a user's inputs to a third-party AI provider of their choosing. You are responsible for complying with the laws of your own jurisdiction.
2. The Services
The Site provides information about MarrowMyth's original worlds, MarrowMyth Materia, custom commissions, and related materials. Some features link to third-party platforms (such as Patreon and Discord), which are governed by their own terms.
3. Materia & AI-Generated Content
A Materia Engine runs using an AI provider of your choice and, where applicable, your own API key, which is stored locally in your browser and sent directly to that provider. MarrowMyth does not monitor, record, store, or moderate your sessions, and has no access to the content you generate.
You are solely responsible for the content you generate, for your inputs, and for your chosen AI provider and any fees it charges. A Materia Engine is a neutral framing device; what it generates is determined by your inputs and your provider, and any content limits are governed by that provider's terms, not by MarrowMyth. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, offensive, or unsuitable; MarrowMyth makes no warranty as to it and accepts no responsibility for it. 4. Submissions
If you submit material to us — for example, Materia Engine excerpts or other feedback or content — you represent and warrant that it is your own original work or that you hold all rights necessary to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. You grant MarrowMyth a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and promote your submission on the Site and our channels. You retain ownership of your original work. We are not obligated to publish any submission and may edit or decline it at our discretion.
5. Commissions
Custom Materia Engine commissions are a standalone service and do not require a Patreon subscription. Each commission is delivered to run locally on the commissioner's own system. Commission scope, pricing, delivery, and any refund terms are agreed directly with you at the time of order. Please raise any commission questions before purchase via our contact form.
6. Intellectual Property
MarrowMyth Materia and all original worlds, characters, lore, and settings created by F.C. Marrow are the exclusive property of MarrowMyth and F.C. Marrow and may not be reproduced, distributed, resold, or used without permission. Any third-party intellectual property referenced within fan-oriented Materia Engine applications remains the property of its respective owners and is used only for private, personal, non-commercial purposes. The Materia engine technology itself — its underlying code, architecture, and systems, and the engine concept in all its forms (World, Story, and Practical engines, and Web Experiences) — is the exclusive, proprietary property of MarrowMyth and F.C. Marrow. Commissioning an engine grants you the right to use, run, host, and share your delivered engine and everything you create with it; your world, characters, lore, and content are yours to do with as you wish. That right does not transfer ownership of the technology that powers it. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, reconstruct, repurpose, or redistribute the engine's underlying code or systems, nor use them to build or enable another engine, without the express written permission of MarrowMyth. In short: do anything you like with your world — just not with what makes it an engine.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the Site for unlawful purposes; attempt to breach or test the security of the Site or its endpoints; scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content; abuse, overload, or spam our forms or services; or copy, resell, or redistribute MarrowMyth's content or software except as expressly permitted.
8. Memberships & Member Login
Memberships and payments are processed by Patreon under its own terms. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Patreon membership grants access to F.C. Marrow's personal worlds; it is separate from commissions.
You may sign in with Patreon to access member features and benefits. Access is tied to your active “Marrow Member” membership and ends if that membership lapses. Your login is personal to you — keep it secure and do not share member access. We may suspend access that is shared or misused.
9. Disclaimers
The Site and Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that AI-generated content will meet your expectations.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MarrowMyth and F.C. Marrow will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Site, Materia, or AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount, if any, you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MarrowMyth and F.C. Marrow from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the Site, your submissions or generated content, or your breach of these Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Thailand for any dispute arising from these Terms.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date; your continued use of the Site means you accept them.
