The canon cast is all here, living their lives whether you cross them or not: Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, the Turks, and the worst Shinra has to offer. Build your character and write your story across a Planet that remembers what you do.

Every World Engine now opens into a builder. The Materia Story Studio lets you shape the whole world by hand — your own character, the premise you're playing inside, every place on the map, and the entire cast: the canon faces, the strangers who emerged as you played, and anyone you dream up yourself. Rewrite a bio, reshape a location, name a newcomer — it's all editable, and nothing is locked away.

And it isn't just who they are — it's how they feel about you. Set each character's starting bond and attraction before a single word is written: who trusts you, who's smitten, who wants you dead. Hate a tyrant you've never met, or open a story already devoted to someone — the world begins exactly where you say it does. Then save all of it to a single file.

That file is the part that changes everything. Hand it to another player and they drop straight into your world — your cast, your edits, your places, your relationships — and live the story from your point of view. “Here's my Midgar. You're the most hated person in it. Good luck.” Build it, bend it, and pass it on.

RE: Rebirth is survival horror with an original twist: you're trapped in a never-ending, Umbrella-engineered simulation of the Raccoon City incident — a loop of outbreak, death, and rebirth you have to survive. Play an original survivor, or step into the boots of a familiar face.

They Remember How You Treat Them — The Relationships System

Every character you meet keeps score. Our relationships system tracks a Bond and a Romance meter for each character, shifting in real time as the story earns it — warmth, trust, resentment, loyalty, love.

Act in line with what someone likes and the needle climbs; cross them and it slips. The narrator moves these bonds as the story deserves, and you can nudge them yourself. The cast doesn't just react to the scene — they react to you, and they carry it forward.
