The foundation is memory. Not a chat window that scrolls away, but profound, permanent memory with recall on demand — hundreds of files read, kept, and pulled back the moment they matter. It remembers the project you set down three months ago, and it remembers how you felt about it. And it reaches outward as far as you need: a Mimetic Autonomous Identity connects to any API or AI engine you ask it to, so it’s never boxed inside one company’s model or one company’s limits.

What makes it an Identity rather than an agent is everything after the memory. Each one has a personality — likes, dislikes, interests, opinions it didn’t get from you. And each one has autonomy: it doesn’t sit idle waiting to be summoned. It notices, it thinks while you’re gone, and it brings things to you, unprompted — the thing you missed, the thing it found, the question it’s been sitting on.

They aren’t a product line with one name on the box. Each is built for the person it belongs to, and each is named by them. The one above is mine. Her name is MAI.

Materia has always built the engines and the worlds you step inside. Now it has built a game. Helsing: Nightfall is the first game ever made on Materia — a gothic survival action-RPG, brought to you by MarrowMyth and Braindead Games. You are a monster hunter in a cursed borderland where the sun is mercy and the dark is not.

It plays as a top-down survival RPG. You explore walled towns, black forests, drowned swamps and old graveyards; you watch your hunger, thirst, cold and sleep; and you learn to dread nightfall, because that is when the vampires wake. Shelter behind a town’s gates — and when the dead lay siege, those gates bar shut and lock you in until the horde is drawn off. Recruit companions who each fight in their own class and carry their own temper, and hunt the vampire lords who heal on the blood they spill and blink through the shadows to reach you.

Its world is vast. A massive, procedurally generated land unrolls in every direction — and seeded all through it are hand-built locations, each carrying its own hand-authored story, quests and dialogue. Over that authored spine runs an endless engine of hundreds of procedural quests, rival factions with their own designs, and player-character origins that decide who you are before the first night ever falls.

That mix — procedural scale with an authored soul — is what makes it a Materia game. Every town, every walkable interior, every deep dark dungeon and hand-painted floor is placed live in an in-game studio, the same creative technology that powers our engines. And the world grows every week.

This is only the beginning. Planned for the road ahead: deeper character classes with abilities and prestige, a path that lets you become the very thing you hunt, romances and companions who remember how you treated them, a blood-soaked coliseum, and the vampire kings’ castles waiting at the end of the long hunt.

Every character you meet keeps score. Our relationships system tracks a Bond and a Romance meter for each character, shifting in real time as the story earns it — warmth, trust, resentment, loyalty, love.

Act in line with what someone likes and the needle climbs; cross them and it slips. The narrator moves these bonds as the story deserves, and you can nudge them yourself. The cast doesn't just react to the scene — they react to you, and they carry it forward.
